Luka Rep, born on 27/07/2000, studies at the AVA Academy of Visual Arts in Ljubljana. In 2019 and 2020, he also successfully passed the entrance exams at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, majoring in painting. Since childhood, he has been interested in fine arts, especially painting and drawing. In 2013, when he was still in elementary school, the late academic painter Zmago Modic recognized his talent and accepted him in his painting course for adults. He attended the course for two years, until 2015. At the end of the 2013/14 school year, as a student of Koseze Primary School, he had his first painting exhibition on the premises of the school. In February 2014, he had a second solo exhibition of his study drawings with charcoal and acrylic in Banja Luka. From May 12 to June 6, 2014, he had in Stane Kregar Gallery, which is under the auspices of the Institute of St. Stanislav's third solo exhibition of study drawings entitled Second Self. The introductory text of the brochure, which was published at the time of the third exhibition, was written by his mentors, academic painter Zmago Modic, and art historian Lado Jakša. On June 15, 2022, at the annual overview exhibition of the Academy for Visual Arts he had exhibited two of his works. A mixed media sculpture entitled "Put-in disco", which also adorned the exhibition catalog and an experimental film entitled "Lucid dreams". On June 26, he had an independent photography exhibition in the TAM-TAM street gallery on Vegava Street in Ljubljana. On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Academy of Visual Arts, on September 26, 2022, he exhibited his experimental film at a video exhibition in the City Museum of Ljubljana. At the annual overview exhibition on 13 June 2023 at the Academy of Visual Arts, he exhibited two of his works, a painting entitled "Dead-end" and an experimental film entitled "No risk, no story". Luka also exhibited his painting works at Art Expo Ljubljana between October 12 and 15, 2023 in Brdo pri Kranju. In the year 2023/2024, Luka started receiving a grant for talented people from MOL. His further career goals are post-graduate art studies abroad and establishing himself in the field of art on a global scale.
